About our School
a little history
New Garden School was started by Mrs. Shelly Cook in 1995.
Mrs. Cook decided that having a preschool close to the Stutterheim High School would be beneficial for both parents and children. She altered the house on the property they purchased to make it more suitable as a pre-school.
Over the years, the school developed and grew into a school offering quality education from Grade R to 9.

Our Principal
At New Garden School, we believe in ensuring that every student is given love and care, in addition to quality education.
This vision is possible thanks to the guidance of our principal, Mr Myburgh.
As a highly educated educator, with nine years of experience at New Garden School, he embodies the values of kindness, hope and strength to instil in every student.
Mr Myburgh leads a team dedicated to nurturing students through education and care.
His guiding philosophy is that the purpose of education is to educate the whole child, meaning that we don’t only focus on academic success, but our focus is on producing children of strong values and moral character.
Our Mission
At New Garden School, we believe that every child matters, and we strive to provide an education that reflects that belief.
We have created a warm and welcoming environment where students can learn and grow at their own pace.
Our teachers are passionate about education and work tirelessly to create lessons and experiences that are engaging and effective.
We are proud to offer the official CAPS curriculum and to be a pilot school for the developing Grade R to 9 Coding & Robotics curriculum.
Our teachers add on to the curriculum to make it more challenging and rewarding, giving every student the opportunity to reach their full potential.
